Our Story

Growing More Than
Produce

Mott Street Urban Farm started with a simple conviction: the best food comes from the ground your community actually lives on. What began as a vacant lot transformation has grown into a thriving source of fresh vegetables, herbs, and flowers for Boyle Heights and the wider East LA area.

Sustainable by Design

We use organic growing practices, rainwater collection, and composting to minimize our footprint. Every harvest respects the soil and the neighborhood that sustains us.

Food Justice Focus

East LA has too many food deserts and not enough fresh options. We're changing that — one harvest at a time — by putting farm-fresh produce where our neighbors actually shop.

Community First

We partner with local schools, restaurants, and organizations to share knowledge, surplus harvests, and the joy of growing something together.

What We Grow

Seasonal Harvest

What's fresh depends on the season — but you'll always find something picked at peak flavor, not shipped from hundreds of miles away.

Growing Together

Mott Street Urban Farm isn't just a place to buy vegetables — it's a gathering point. We host workshops, school visits, and volunteer days throughout the year because a farm belongs to the people who tend it.

Workshops & Classes

Learn composting, seed saving, and seasonal planting from experienced growers right here at the farm.

School Partnerships

We bring the farm to local classrooms and host student field trips to teach hands-on agriculture and nutrition.

Volunteer Days

Roll up your sleeves and dig in. We welcome volunteers for planting, harvesting, and farm maintenance on scheduled days.
